This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to connect with some extraordinary dance artists of
colour who have significantly influenced the dance world in the U.K. over the past 250 years.
Their contributions have deeply influenced the way we move today, infusing our lives with their
rhythms and energy. Our talented photographer, Hopeful Sandati, has not only captured a sense of
them and their stories in each portrait, but has also brought to life the dynamic energy of
their movements that captivated audiences. For those who have passed away, the artist Naki Narh
has resurrected their enigmatic presence in the world today through her beautiful drawings. We
hope that you derive as much enjoyment from their portraits, donations, and stories as we have
had in collecting them.
