Donald Edwards is a freelance teacher, choreographer, consultant and artistic producer, and a founder member of the Phoenix Dance Theatre (formerly Phoenix Dance Company) in 1981 and RJC Dance. Over his long career he has created work for BBC2 dance education programmes for schools, Harlem Dance Theatre educational programme for DanceXchange, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Ballet Hoo for Channel 4, Special Olympics and Olympics Games England, and with leading figures in dance such as Darshan Singh Bhuller, Jane Dudley, Michael Clarke, Namron and Philip Taylor. A recipient of the Black Achievers Award for his work with RJC, he was also the youngest choreographer to receive an Arts Council Award for new work development.
