Nikita Gill is a British-Indian poet, playwright, writer and illustrator. She was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and grew up in New Delhi, India, where she had her first poem printed in a newspaper at the age of 12. Gill returned to Britain at 23 for a master’s degree at the University for the Creative Arts, and worked for a number of years before publishing her poetry online at the behest of the young people she worked with in her job as a carer for children with severe physical and learning disabilities. Since then, she has become an Instagram sensation and has published five collections of poetry: Your Soul Is A River (2016), Wild Embers (2017), Your Heart is the Sea (2018), Fierce Fairytales (2018) and Great Goddesses (2019).
