Gary is such a stalwart supporter of young musicians and has always been about connecting new musicians with their Black British forebears. His work with Tomorrow’s Warriors as well tirelessly talking about people like Coleridge Goode and Joe Harriott were invaluable to me for placing myself within a much longer musical lineage.
