Trix Worrell is a pioneering director, writer and composer. He created and wrote the groundbreaking sitcom Desmond’s and its spin-off, Porkpie. This was seminal for Black representation on British television, and starred a mostly Black British Guyanese cast, including Norman Beaton and Carmen Munroe. He has also written and directed several plays and set up a production company with Paul Trijbits. Worrell also created his own production company, called A Box of Trix. In 1998, he received a lifetime achievement award from the Royal Television Society.
